The only constant thing about Life is its changes. It so happened that in a single move Carlos , Daniel and Marcelo returned to their native countries, leaving Thyagi to play alone for a while.

London’s ever changing flux of people brought two very special contributions to the project: Argentinean drummer Marcelo Giorgione and Brazilian flutist Daniel Pantoja, which opened the way for World Conscious Music performances.

In due time, Israeli drummer Noam Lederman was incorporated in the project, and together the trio carried one playing 5 nights a week building residences in World Music venues all over London.

Through Thyagi’s other passion, music workshop facilitation, he met British percussionist Justin Fellows with whom toured around different Arts Centers in U.K.

Tukriyatu came about in 2002 when Thyagi Das, while busking in London    Underground, met Argentinean bass player Carlos Aguilera. Busking was initially the main way the duo found to spread its music, which eventually led to many gigs in the London Brazilian-Latin scene.

Around 2006 Italian drummer Francesco Corallini joined the project, and soon later Italian bass player Ruth Goller. Around this time Tukriyatu gained again its momentum, and Brazilian percussionist Aluá Nascimento came to seal a solid team who toured even more in England.

Brazilian virtuoso bass player Deícola Neves also made his musical presence well noticed in several Tukriyatu’s concerts.

Tukriyatu, as time passed, evolved and changed. Nowadays It carries on bringing its messages through Thyagi Das’ solo and group performances. Watch this space as evolution continues making its history...
